Our Pro Bono Collaborative mobilizes Rhode Island law firms, law students and community organizations to provide desperately needed legal assistance for the underserved residents of the state. The unique program includes 10 major law firms, over 20 community-based organizations and several dozen law students.
Roger Williams University School of Law offers low or no-cost conflict resolution services for individuals and groups in East Bay, Rhode Island through its new Mediation Clinic on the Bristol, Rhode Island campus.
Upper level law students, under the supervision of an experienced law professor/mediator, serve as the mediators at the Mediation Clinic after undergoing extensive training in basic and advanced conflict resolution skills. The law student-mediators assist people or groups in conflict reach resolution in a wide range of disputes or other community sourced problems.
Law students enrolled in the Mediation Clinic also are available to provide conflict resolution workshops in the East Bay community upon request from appropriate school or community leaders and local organizations seeking to learn more about peaceful means of resolving disputes.
