Association of Corporate Counsel Ethics Award goes to 2L Justin Pruett

Justin Pruett (11) has been awarded the 2010 Law Student Ethics AwardsJustin Pruett (’11) has been awarded the 2010 Law Student Ethics Awards presented by the Northeast Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel at a dinner on April 15th at the Union Club in Boston. The Chapter created the awards program to recognize and encourage the ethical practice of law at the earliest stages of a young lawyers professional career, and at the same time to shine a spotlight on ethics more generally, demonstrating that the legal community values lawyers who are guided by ethical principles.

The award, which includes a $1,000 scholarship, is given to students from law schools across the Northeast who have demonstrated an early commitment to ethics through their work in a clinical program representing their first real clients.

Under the direction of Professor Mary Holper, the Roger Williams University School of Law Faculty overwhelmingly selected Justin as this year’s recipient. Justin, we congratulate you on this special recognition and award!

It was the icing on the cake for a semester to remember for the talented 2L from Tennessee: in addition to the ACC Award, Justin was elected President of the Student Bar Association, and helped win a national moot court championship, covered in an earlier blog post.
