Carrying the Torch

Week five of law school is upon us. It's still hard to believe that just a short time ago I was just this regular person out in the real world doing my own thing. Days and nights are still filled with classes and loads of reading. My hands at most times seem to be covered in ink from ball-point pens and highlighters. My book bag doesn't seem quite as heavy, not from lack of books, but from getting used to the weight of them all. I came up with this theory a few days ago that the way to tell whether a person is an undergraduate or law student at RWU is to just count the number of bags they are carrying. Law students usually tend to have two or more bags.

Despite being busy most of the time, my life isn't all just law school related. It has been interesting trying to find a balance between studying and having fun.  Last night I went to a concert with my friend Danielle at The Met in Pawtucket. We saw one of my favorite bands the Generationals and had an amazing time. Due to my excessive singing and dancing, we had the opportunity to meet the band afterwards. Ted and Grant are a couple of really cool guys. They even played my favorite song "Carrying the Torch," after I had requested it from the crowd.

As I sit here typing this blog entry a few lines from the song keep running through my head, "...and if you can’t say what you've been going through, you could get rusted and you could be the next to go." Like I've said before I am very honored and glad that I have this opportunity to share my law school experience with you folks. Thanks for reading and remember to say "hi" or stop to talk if you happen to see me around. Oh yeah and if you get a moment give the Generationals a listen.
