Champions for Justice: The 2015 Public Interest Auction

Posted by Laurie Barron on 01/20/2015 at 10:36 PM

Champions for JusticeOur annual Public Interest Auction is right around the corner – on January 30th at the Providence Biltmore! It’s a one-of-a-kind event that is not to be missed.

Each year we bring together our students, alumni, faculty, staff, and the Providence legal community for an evening of elegance that celebrates our students and alumni dedicated to serving low-income and disenfranchised communities in New England and around the country.  The event raises funds for RWU Law’s many public interest programs, including our Public Interest Summer Stipend Program, Alternative Spring Break, and much more.

In addition, this year we will be starting a new tradition by paying tribute to some wonderful friends of RWU Law’s public interest programs with a special dinner before the auction.  For our inaugural year, we have named the event “Champions for Justice.”  This year’s honorees will be:

Linn Foster Freedman* Linn Foster Freedman, Esq., Nixon Peabody

    Champion for Justice

Deborah Gonzalez

* Deborah Gonzalez '07, Gonzalez Law Offices

   Alumni Public Interest Champion

CPCS* Committee for Public Counsel Services,

    Community Partner Champion

Following the reception (5-5:30) and dinner (5:30-7:00), we will head upstairs to the ballroom for the much-loved RWU Law tradition of the Public Interest Auction – a signature event for our law school community.

You are cordially invited to attend both the dinner and the auction, or just the auction (ticket pricing is separate).  We offer special pricing for our recent graduates and for the public interest community.  The auction usually sells out in advance and we expect this year to be no exception – so act quickly and don’t miss out on the fun!
