I have a special place in my heart for the RWU Law class of 2006—they began as 1Ls the same year that I began as the new dean—so I was especially glad to participate in the class’s fifth year reunion. There were actually three events on the day: a brunch and a cocktail reception, where there were lots of laughs about the ups and downs of law school life (and more than a few stories about long-time faculty stalwarts Larry Ritchie, Carl Bogus, and Louise Teitz).

And then there was an event of a very different sort: a memorial service for Frank Tricomi ’06, who passed away earlier this year after a courageous battle with cancer. Organized by Joe Farside ’06, and attended by Frank’s widow, Stephanie Modica Tricomi ’06, the event gave us an opportunity to reflect on a life taken too soon, on the unique bonds formed in law school, and on our hope for the future, represented by the planting of a memorial tree on the hill in front of the School of Law building, dedicated to Frank. Here are some pictures from that event, and you can read Joe’s eulogy for Frank in the current issue of the RWU Law magazine.
