Hello there,
I regret to inform you that in New Jersey we are anticipating a 3 figure week. Nearly a hundred degrees every day. Now, I don't envy the days when I used to dig holes and pour concrete for a living, but even now I find something to complain about a bit. Suits. I love suits, believe it or not; I just like getting dressed up. No, that is not why I am striving to become a lawyer, but it's certainly an added perk. Except in the summer. When temperatures are high and I'm walking to the courthouse to use their wireless internet, I get a little warm. And by a little I mean I sweat like pig.
In any case, I'm here in the courthouse right now actually, cooling down in their life saving air conditioning (my office has air conditioning as well, but I like to work here), finishing up some work. I almost dread going to lunch and have worked through it the last few days or so that I've been at work because of the heat. I'd rather go hungry then be warm is really what the moral of the story is here.
I'm sure I should be making some sort of point concerning the law school. I'm not. It's just hot and I suppose all I'm saying is when purchasing business appropriate clothing, try to find something light and breathable.
Oh, and cherish your internships: use the opportunity to network, see what actual attorneys do, and to have fun because in a few short years fun will be something that you plan on Tuesday nights so that when someone asks what you did this week you can say "bowling" instead of "drafted commercial contracts for my client, high five?".
Alright, back to work.
