Hi everyone, and welcome to Roger Williams Univeristy Law School’s admissions site!  As a potential or incoming student, you probably have a ton of questions about what to expect when you get to law school.  You are not alone!  I hope that I can fill you in on the joys and challenges of being a first year law student, and maybe answer some of your questions before you arrive.

My name is Kelly Bennett, and I am a new law student at Roger Williams University School of Law in beautiful and historic Bristol, RI.  I received my BA in Political Science from Stonehill College in Easton MA in May of 2008, so it was not long ago that I was an undergraduate, considering law school, and looking for any information about what the experience is like, what to expect, and how to prepare.  While your law school advisor and the law schools themselves are the best source for the “how to prepare,” I hope I can tune you into the “what to expect” part of the equation.

While my schedule is quite demanding (and you will learn more about that later!), I am going to do my best to make sure that I add to the blog regularly, to help keep it current, and to keep you informed as to what this experience is like, and how my experience at RWU is progressing!

Keep in mind that everyone’s law school experience is different, and that the experiences I share with you are unique to me, and someone else might have a different perspective.  Be sure to check out my colleagues blogs, to get a view of how the law school experience changes as you progess.  Some of the material in this blog is also reflected in my personal online blog.  My goal is to provide you with an honest and individual perspective of a first year law student at RWU law, and I hope that along the way I can provide you with an idea of what you might be able to expect when you arrive.

I hope that this site adds to your interest in law school, and that you take the time to visit RWU Law, talk with others who attend or have attended RWU Law, and listen to what makes them passionate about this field, the work, and the many opportunities that are available here for you!
