The annual RWU School of Law Jeopardy game is quickly approaching, hosted again by our very own Professor of Law David A. Logan. (Move over Alex Trebek!) Sponsored by the Sports & Entertainment Law Society (SPENT), the annual Jeopardy game pits the 1L, 2L, 3L, Faculty, and Alumni teams against each other to see who will come out victorious!

In the spirit of America's Favorite Quiz Show®, let’s test your Jeopardy knowledge against questions famous contestant Ken Jennings failed to respond to correctly:

  • Answer: A tree that's a national symbol of Slovenia, or a Texan U.S. president's first name.
  • Answer: The dollar sign may have originated as Ps, an abbreviation for this other monetary unit.
  • Answer: This 11-letter word for sleight of hand is from the French for "light of hand."

The New York Times published the questions (wait, answers!), along with the correct and incorrect responses, as part of their coverage of Jennings’ 74-game winning streak. They also documented Jennings’ final episode and the time he was defeated by IBM’s super computer Watson.

You can find more about Jeopardy and other topics by subscribing to the New York Times. Thankfully, the Law Library now offers complimentary digital access to faculty and students! Sign up while on campus with the following steps and enjoy!

NOTE: You must renew the account annually, so be sure to add the expiration date to your calendar!

If you have any questions, please stop by the reference desk or email one of the librarians at lawlibraryhelp@rwu.edu. While none of our librarians have been on Jeopardy, we are all still pretty awesome. For more information on librarians who have been on Jeopardy, see this post and this post.

Breaking News!

You have the opportunity to watch one of our Law Librarian colleagues, Ken Hirsh, on Jeopardy. His appearance is scheduled to air on Thursday, October 27th, just in time to aid in preparing for the RWU School of Law Jeopardy match.
