Lost & Found

Posted by Library Blog on 12/09/2016 at 09:25 AM

December 9th, 2016 is Lost & Found Day! This obscure holiday is a great reminder to search for any personal belongings we have lost over the year.

A good place to check for lost items is your local lost and found center. For example, the Library is the lost and found center for the law school.

The concept of having a central place where people can come to recover things they have lost dates back 1805, when Napoleon Bonaparte opened the first lost and found office in Paris. Today, you can find giant warehouses with hundreds of thousands of meticulously catalogued lost items, like the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Lost and Found Center.

The Library’s Lost & Found collection has been steadily piling up over the semester.  A list was posted on the library’s Facebook page last week, but if you have an item or two that has gone missing, be sure to stop by the Circulation Desk to see if it has been turned in!

Items that are not claimed by the end of the semester will be donated or discarded.Lost & Found
