Me, Myself and Irene
A hurricane? In New England? Ok fine, a tropical storm by the time she got here. However, Irene was officially removed from the list of possible future daughter's names after the sheer nuisance the last week has been. While I am normally not one to complain about back to back four day weekends, I am absolutely one to complain about 4 days of no electricity, cable or internet. After all, how else am I supposed to communicate with my beloved readers? As bad as the four days without power were, the pure, unadulterated elation of getting back was a feeling that I will not soon forget. Luckily, having no distractions of the technological kind for a few days had given me no choice but actually get ahead on my reading so I was able to revel in my newly rediscovered utopia complete with internet and cable.
Before I knew it, the hurricane shortened week was over and I was able to enjoy an amazing weekend in the most incredible city in the world, Boston, MA (personal bias may apply). Along with a horde of my fellow law students, I took in the Red Sox game on Friday night which did not end well for the hometown team. Luckily, my girlfriend had bought tickets for Saturday's game as a birthday present and that result was much more favorable. We also got to see a bunch of our friends from our undergrad days which is always a refreshing experience. Now, after the Labor Day long weekend, I need to refocus and hopefully get into the full weekly routine and grind that is the life of a 1L. Hopefully hurricane season is over for the northeast.
