The Roger Williams Law family gathered in the Rotunda at Citizens Plaza to celebrate the holiday season (replete with jokes about Gov. Chafee’s “holiday tree”), and as a bonus helped the U.S. Marine Corps with their “Toys for Tots” program. This was the first such event with our new President, Dr. Donald Farish (who has a law degree to go with his Phd in biology), and he enjoyed mingling with an energetic crowd of faculty, staff, alums and friends of the law school from the bench and bar. Among the luminaries in attendance: Chief Justice of the RI Supreme Court Paul Suttell and his colleague Associate Justice Maureen McKenna Goldberg; Federal Judge Will Smith (a popular member of our Adjunct Faculty); and Associate Justice of the Superior Court Nettie Vogel (friend of the law school, and now a new member of our governing board).
My top highlight of the evening: singing “Happy Birthday” to Professor Emeritus Bob Kent who had just celebrated his 90th birthday! Following are some pics from that fun evening.
