Prof. Peter MarguliesI am delighted to announce that Prof. Peter Margulies became our Distinguished Research Professor as of July 1.

The award is most fitting; Peter is a prolific scholar, on a range of topics, and his great run has been highlighted by the publication this spring of his first book: "Law’s Detour: Justice Displaced in the Bush Administration," by the New York University Press. The book release was highlighted on the American Constitution Society website, and here is Peter's summary.

Among his other publications are articles in the lead journals at Iowa, Maryland, George Washington, Rutgers, Colorado, Texas, Utah, and Boston University, and as a result Peter is a major contributor to our strong faculty ranking on the scholarship front.

Prof. Margulies, who earned his J.D. from Columbia, is often sought our for his expertise and has authored many amicus briefs to the federal courts, including the Supreme Court of the United States.

Congratulations, Peter, on your well-deserved honor!
