RWU Law is lucky to have one of the country’s leading academic experts on Domestic Violence, Emily Sack. She had a distinguished academic career before entering teaching (J.D., New York University; M.A., Columbia University; M. Phil., Columbia University; B.A., Swarthmore College) and worked at the ACLU and the United States Senate Committee on the Judiciary, before joining the RWU Law faculty in 2001.
Professor Sack's work on the topic has appeared leading journals at Northwestern, Wisconsin and Washington universities, and even cited by the Supreme Court of the United States (Castle Rock v. Gonzalez, 545 U.S. 758 (2005).

Now we are proud to acknowledge the release of a casebook that she co-edited, Domestic Violence and the Law: Theory and Practice, 3rd ed., with Elizabeth Schneider, Cheryl Hanna & Judith G. Greenberg, published by the top academic publisher, Foundation Press.

Reflecting our appreciation for her scholarly excellence, Prof. Sack now serves as our Distinguished Research Professor. Congratulations on yet another stellar accomplishment, Emily!
