What to do when you can't concentrate? Write a blog!!!

It's a Friday at 5:21 p.m. I'm still at school, sitting at my desk wondering how much longer I should work for. It's not my weekend with the kids, so I always feel guilty if I leave early because I like to try to get as much done as possible when they are not home. That way, it makes life a little more sane when they are.

Since I'm having trouble concentrating, I decided to write about what I have been up to lately:

Criminal Defense Clinic:

We are now officially in full force. Everyone is busy and everyone has court almost weekly. Greg Rosenfeld, another student in the clinic, represented his client at the clinic's first trial of the semester. It was full blown, with witnesses and exhibits! After cross-examining three witnesses and giving his closing arguments, we sat and waited anxiously for the verdict. NOT GUILTY! It was so exciting. I have my first trial scheduled for next Wednesday, so hopefully, mine goes just as well.

I have my very first midterm of my law school career coming up next Tuesday. It's for ALR (Applied Legal Reasoning), which is a prep class to help us start getting ready for the bar. My entire life I have always hated multiple choice quesitons because I always get down to two answers that could be the right one, and somehow, I almost always pick the wrong one. Multiple choice questions will always be my personal struggle. Maybe I will just answer c. haha

Law Review:

Lots of stuff going on right now. I established a Developmental Committee and I am very thankful to have Amy Goins, Adam Riser, Brandon Fontaine, and Jolee Messier working on lots of projects for me. Our goal is to come up with ways to make our law review better and expand our annual subscription list. We are working on creating a strong law review alumni network and an advisory board. There is the possibility that we may be attending the Annual Law Review Conference being held in San Diego in the spring. There are many projects underway that our board is very excited about!

Personal Life:

My daughter turns 13 on Monday. Although it is Columbus Day, that is ignored and it is Jenna day in our house. She hasn't decided what she wants to do to celebrate, but she's plotting and planning. She has also made me promise I would not do any work on her birthday (which is why I should be studying instead of writing this).

My puppy has fleas and it is absolutely disgusting. I have tried Frontline, I have bombed the house, I have washed everything in hot water, and I have frozen things I can put in bags and stick in the freezer, but they insist on coming back. No one in my house is getting bit so the vet says we are not "infested," but knowing these disgusting little bugs are on my dog and inside my house creeps me out. He is still as cute as ever though. =)
