My name is Hala Furst, and I am a 3L. Before coming to Roger Williams I received a BA in Theatre Arts at the University of Minnesota. In the three years between graduating from college and arriving here in Bristol, RI, I worked as a hotel concierge for a luxury brand, a loan officer and mortgage broker, a freelance casting agent for a music video network, and in Minnesota and L.A. as an actor, among other things. I decided to attend law school because of a strong desire to work in national and international issues of social justice and human rights, stemming from work that I have done with Seeds of Peace International Camp and other similar organizations.
Last summer I was fortunate enough to participate in both the London and Lisbon study abroad programs through RWU. I was able to observe a British court from the Judge’s bench, take class at the Torre de Belem, the embarkation point for countless Portuguese explorers, and experience many other once-in-a-lifetime moments, all reminding me that no matter where you go, the law has something to teach you. This past summer I worked at the United States Attorney's Office for the District of Rhode Island, and got to observe and participate in the federal legal system first hand. I’m happy to share my last year of law school with you.
