Alex Ruskell has taught courses on Bar Exam Preparation, Water Law, Contractual Drafting, Law and Literature, and Art Law. He has recently edited four books for law school students, covering the bar exam, the Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam, first year success strategies, and first year Contracts. For 10 years, he has edited Thomson West’s national law bulletins in Search and Seizure, Narcotics, Arrest, and Investigative Stops, and Thomson West’s law bulletins focused on California and New York law. He also lectures on multistate bar exam topics at law schools across the country for PMBR. He is a graduate of Washington and Lee University, The University of Texas at Austin, Harvard University, and the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. In 2005, Doubleday published Fumbling, a memoir written by his wife, Kerry Egan, about a religious pilgrimage in Spain. A review in the National Catholic Reporter stated: “So what does a reader take away from this book? Many things, but there are three in particular. Number one, Alex is a saint. Seriously.”
