Justice Thurgood Marshall served on the U.S. Supreme Court from 1967 - 1991.  Prior to serving on the Court, he was counsel for the NAACP, a judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and a U.S. solicitor general.  Of interest in the Law Library’s collection is Supreme Justice: Speeches and Writings: Thurgood Marshall edited by J. For those who listened to Justice Antonin Scalia’s April 7 talk at which he expressed his judicial philosophy, you might want to read his book A Matter of Interpretation: Federal Courts and the Law: an Essay (KF4552. It’s getting to be that time of year, paper time!  Fortunately, the Legal Beagle does not have to write papers!
