At the request of U.S. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.), Associate Professor John Chung testified on the complex problems associated with personal bankruptcies, a pressing issue given the deepening recession. The other witnesses at the hearing were Prof. Robert Lawless from the University of Illinois School of Law, Federal Bankruptcy Judge Thomas Small, and John Rao from the National Consumer Law Center. For the last couple years, RWU Law students have had the unique opportunity to learn “The Lessons of Litigation", a course designed and taught by one of the top federal judges, the Hon.
