"I get to sleep all alone at night for all my life...it's fantastic!" - Nacho Libre -
I'm just going say it bluntly...to say that this has been the greatest year of my life would not be far from the truth, however, to say it has been the worst year of my life would not be incorrect either...
When Jack Black described to the orphans what he got to look forward to in his life in Nacho Libre he strained to find enthusiasm in what came out of his mouth...that's law school. This past year I've witnessed myself fulfilling a dream. Not just a dream...no...when I came u here from Knoxville, TN I had...

Well, its week 7 and I can finally say that I beginning to settle down into a nice 'ol routine. I remember originally stating I would do a blog every sunday...that worked out well. Anyway, to the news at hand.
I've settled into my classes quite well, if I may say so myself. What seems to be giving me the most trouble?
Legal Methods.
Got to love learning a new language...well...this is it. I find myself wearing myself down on the assigments for it and they aren't even graded! (by the professor at least) They are,...

Unless, you live in a cave (like myself) New England was recently hit by two natural disasters. First, an earthquake; then, a hurricane…is the world coming to an end? Could this be the beginning of the end of the world that the Mayan calendar predicts in December 2012?
Probably not…
I can say, however, if the world does end I have some first-hand experience of what it will be like after going 4 days without power. Let me just give a quick summary:
1) Lights.
Lights illuminate my world; give me...

"We're not in Kansas anymore..."
Ask me what my impression of Law School and Bristol, RI, and you will get an answer similar to Dorothy's in "The Wizard of OZ." Before now, I thought I had a pretty good idea of what that meant and how it felt. Now, I am sure I do. The only difference being, that I am not telling this to "Toto", her adorable Cairn Terrier, but, you, the magnificent stranger.
For the most part, I like to keep it light most of the time. Even now, I feel like I'm being a little too philosophical, but all things considered, this post is a personal declaration; a promise to myself...

…should I be describing it this way? Only time will tell.
I can say that our summer reading, “Succeeding in Law School” and the prospect of taking part in the “Jump Start” program are two things that have acted to calm my nerves. Combine that with the amazing support group I have found on the Class of 2014 Facebook page, and I could tell you the feelings have mysteriously vanquished themselves…almost.
I say almost because no matter how well I prepare there is no way to fully prepare for what awaits me in “Law School”. I am sure the challenges will be great. Juggling studies while keeping a...

I'm Ben Carroll and I like to think of myself as just a good 'ol southern boy...southern accent….southern hospitality...and conservative southern roots. I was born and raised in Knoxville, TN. For undergrad I chose Tennessee Wesleyan, a small liberal arts college in Athens, TN, Home of the South's finest milk products! Mayfield Dairy. My experience in undergrad was a rollercoaster ride. I was here, I was there, but to my credit, I always made it back in one piece. The Genius of my History Professor, English Professor, and Human Service Professor allowed me to develop my reading and...
