One tradition at RWU Law is that the deans and faculty host a party for the 1Ls immediately after a milestone: the completion of their 1L exams. Faculty, staff and students gather at popular hangout Jacky's Galaxie for drinks and food and celebration. Here are some pics from this year's installment for the great class of 2015.

The Feinstein Institute recently held its annual reception celebrating the public service commitment of our graduating students and thanking the legal community for mentoring our students in public interest law. The reception was generously supported by the Feinstein Foundation.
Judges, lawyers and community partners as well as graduating students, faculty and staff attended the event at the Marriott Courtyard in Providence. I often use this blog to talk about the amazing array of experiential learning opportunities that RWU Law is able to offer as the only law school in Rhode Island.
But as we approach our 20th Anniversary, it’s becoming increasingly clear just how deeply RWU Law has penetrated Rhode Island legal culture – up to and including the state judiciary. Here are just three examples from the recent weeks.

Many RWU Law grads take the Connecticut bar exam and the state bar provides much helpful data that facilitates comparisons between and among regional law schools.
The results for the February exam were just released and once again RWU Law students prove that they were well prepared. Here are the first time pass rates of schools that had a dozen or more takers:

One of the pleasures of being the dean at RWU is that I get to go on the road and spend time with our successful alums across the country: in recent weeks it was NYC, Miami (actually Coral Gables) and Boston with Denver and Philidelphia on the horizon.
We always pick a fun spot to gather; in NY a lounge with killer views of the neon on Times Square, in Florida a hip wine bar, Cibo, and in Boston, we partied at Clink, the very cool bar in a former jail. Here are some pics from those fun evenings.

The crowning achievement for many 3Ls is the opportunity to serve as a law clerk to a judge after graduation. Judicial clerkships provide a great transition from the ivory tower of law school to practice, and often yield a mentor/mentee relationship that lasts a lifetime (as was the case for me). http://law.rwu.edu/sites/law.rwu.edu/files/flipbooks/spring2012/index.html#/20/
