Among the thousands of books published annually, the Law Library continues to purchase quality works on developing issues and contemporary legal issues.  Some of these are scholarly treatises by law professors and others are “nuts and bolts” materials by practitioners who are experts in their field.  The Law Library routinely buys publications from organizations such as the American Bar Association and the National Institute for Trial Advocacy.  We also collect e-books that can be accessed with one click. In addition to the excellent resources of the Academic Success Program, here’s a review of the various study aids offered by the Law Library. For reviewing legal concepts: The Law Library’s collection contains hornbooks and nutshells on almost every legal subject.  There are also titles from the Examples and Explanations and Understanding series.  Current editions of the study aids are shelved on Reserve and circulate for either two or forty-eight hours.  Older editions are shelved in the stacks and circulate for four weeks.  Look at the Study Aids Law Guides to determine...

The Uniform Commercial Code is the basis for several courses taught here at the law school.  To help demystify UCC Article 2 Sales and UCC Article 9 Secured Transactions, here are some study aids available in the Law Library’s collection. In addition to the CALI tutorials, the Law Library’s collection has various study aids on numerous legal subject areas.  These study aids include the nutshells and hornbooks published by Thomson/West.  Other study aids are published by LexisNexis and Aspen Publishers.  LexisNexis publishes the “Understanding...” series and Aspen Publishers publishes the Examples and Explanations series.  Foundation Press, an independent affiliate of Thomson/West, also publishes the Concepts and Insights series on various areas of the law.
