Evidently my idea of posting another blog before the end of the school year was---unsuccessful. To atone I will post an extra long one.
I think I have mentioned that when it comes to study places I am a Starbucks fan. And while I really do love Starbucks and their baristas who were so kind to me throughout the year, I have decided to go on hiatus this summer. By the time spring exams were over I was so burned out that even entering a Starbucks makes me feel like I should be doing RAP problems or answering a hypothetical about real covenants. So no Starbucks for now.

...and what a year it was, highlighted by a visit from the First Circuit, a 3L victory in Student-Faculty Jeopardy, and a national prize for a 3L moot court team! The graduates and their families and friends enjoyed terrific weather, a spirited graduation ceremony (complete with goofs on the dean), and a fun after-party. We are always proud to see our graduates continue to pursue academic excellence after they graduate from RWU law. Sarah Mazzochi (’10) is but one recent example. Sarah has earned her LL.M in International Legal Studies from American University, and is now working in Washington, D.C. at the Academy on Human Rights and Humanitarian Law.

I am pleased to report that RWU Law was among the top schools in the Northeast when it comes to recognition of our excellence in public interest. Eight of our students recently learned that they would be receiving stipends from Equal Justice Works, the national organization "dedicated to creating a just society by mobilizing the next generation of lawyers committed to equal justice."
The stipends support summer jobs for a fascinating array of NGOs, from RI, Massachusetts, to Georgia and Alaska. This is quite an accomplishment, especially since there were almost 1,990 applicants and only...
