| Guns: Public Policy and Law Featuring Professor Carl Bogus
What kinds of gun control reduce homicides, injuries, and suicides? What kinds don't? What restrictions does the Second Amendment place on potentially effective regulation? This program has been approved for One (1) Rhode Island MCLE Credit with no ethics credits. |
| 11:00 a.m. – 12 noon | Foreclosure Crisis and Urban America Featuring Professor Jorge Elorza
This presentation will look at the local fallout of the foreclosure crisis. It will discuss foreclosure litigation in the RI federal, state and municipal courts and analyze a number of the legal issues that arise. The presentation will also focus on the effects on urban communities of foreclosure and abandoned homes. This program has been approved for One (1) Rhode Island MCLE Credit with no ethics credits. |
| 12:15 - 2:00 p.m. | Rum Runner II Cruise Departing from Herreshoff Marine Museum Landing/Bristol
Enjoy light refreshments as you cruise Narragansett Bay and see the picturesque and historic sites. Passengers need to report to the dock by 12:15 p.m. for boarding. The Rum Runner II will cruise at 12:30 p.m. |
| 12:30 -2:00 p.m. | Community Service Project at The Magaziner Farm The Magaziner Farm located in Bristol is part of the Community Farm Group, an association of five farms dedicated to growing fresh produce for their neighbors in need. The farm is in need of volunteers for late season harvesting and cleanup. Limited to 10 people. A bag lunch will be provided to the volunteers. (NOTE: Children over ten years old are welcome.) |
| 12:30 – 2:00 p.m. | Community Service Project at the Audubon Society of Rhode Island The Audubon Society of Rhode Island is dedicated to education, land conservation and advocacy. Audubon independently protects or owns almost 9,500 acres of woodlands and coastal property embracing diverse natural habitats. Audubon is in need of volunteers to assist with beach cleanup. Limited to 10 people. A bag lunch will be provided to the volunteers. (NOTE: Children over ten years old are welcome.) |
| Saturday Evening | WATERFIRE Providence Roger Williams University and Roger Williams University School of Law Celebrating 20 Years are sponsoring a full lighting of WaterFire Providence on the evening of Saturday, September 28, 2013. Sunset is 6:34 p.m. Beyond the lighting itself, a wide range of RWU & RWU Law-themed events -- from performing arts to interactive displays to receptions -- will take place. |

What to Wear
Comfortable and relaxed attire is the order for the weekend, although the Law Alumni Association Scholarship Golf Tournament requires golf attire and no denim.
