Job Postings & On-Campus Interviews

Job Postings
At any time of the year, we are pleased to immediately post your employment opportunities on our website. Please visit on our online job system, Symplicity to post a position. Once you are registered, click on “Post a Job”.

Please contact the Office of Career Development if you have any questions about posting a job.

Lateral Hiring
Attorneys seeking career changes or lateral hire opportunities turn to the Office of Career Development for referrals, career counseling, and job listings. Employers may list openings for lateral positions on Symplicity, which are available to our alumni. Additionally, the Assistant Dean for the Office of Career Development is available for consultation regarding your specific hiring needs, as well as your marketing, recruiting, and retention efforts.

On-Campus Interview Program
The Office of Career Development is pleased to host on-campus interviews throughout the academic year. Participating employers provide the Office of Career Development with their specific hiring information and select preferred dates for interviewing. The Office of Career Development then collects candidates' application materials and submits packages to employers well in advance of the on-campus interview. Your ability to pre-screen the candidates ensures that you will interview only the students most compatible with your individual hiring needs. The Office of Career Development contacts and schedules students for desired interviews and provides interview facilities in our state-of-the-art law school in beautiful Bristol, Rhode Island.

You may reserve a date for on-campus interviewing immediately by contacting our office.

Employers traveling to Bristol to interview our students who require overnight accommodations will be hosted at our expense at the Bristol Harbor Inn, overlooking the Narragansett Bay.

Off-Campus Interviewing
Employers unable to visit Bristol may recruit through the Office of Career Development's Off-Campus Interview Program. Firms and agencies interested in soliciting resumes from students simply need to complete a form describing the position(s) available, their hiring criteria, applicable deadlines, and application materials to be submitted. Please contact us for more information.

Military Recruitment
Though Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell has been repealed, there are still unresolved issues of discrimination of LGBT individuals by the United States military.  The military is permitted to interview on campus only because of the loss of funds that would otherwise be imposed under the Solomon Amendment.

Message of Compliance for Unpaid Internships
Roger Williams University School of Law is in compliance with the U.S. Department of Labor's Wage and Hour Division (WHD) of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) regarding all unpaid internships. The WHD has developed six federal guidelines:

-The training, even though it includes actual operation of the facilities of the employer, is similar to what would be given in a vocational school or academic educational instruction;
-The training is for the benefit of the trainees;
-The trainees do not displace regular employees, but work under their close observation;
-The employer that provides the training derives no immediate advantage from the activities of the trainees, and on occasion the employer's operations may actually be impeded;
-The trainees are not necessarily entitled to a job at the conclusion of the training period; and
-The employer and the trainees understand that the trainees are not entitled to wages of the time spent in training.
