Our Pro Bono Collaborative mobilizes Rhode Island law firms, law students and community organizations to provide desperately needed legal assistance for the underserved residents of the state.  The unique program includes 10 major law firms, over 20 community-based organizations and several dozen law students.

This course addresses the lawyer’s craft of interviewing and counseling the small business client and entrepreneur.  The course provides both a theoretical framework and practical experience in understanding and addressing common small business issues and challenges.  Interviewing and counseling skills will be introduced through lectures, demonstrations and discussions, with attention to the special circumstances that arise when dealing with the small business client.  The class will participate in simulations, role playing and critiques to develop and hone skills
