Management of Disc Pathologies and Other Spinal Abnormalities with Non-Surgical Pain Management with Strong Concentration on the Effects and Administration of Cortisone Injections.

Presented by Roman Andrew Klufas, MD

This program will introduce the legal community to the appropriate use and interpretation of spinal and extremity imaging, particularly in the setting of accident trauma. We will review the role of various imaging modalities, including X-ray, CT, and MRI in assessing traumatic injury to the cervical, lumbar spine and large extremities. A main goal of the lecture is to assist the attorney in the challenging task of differentiating acute injury from pre-existing chronic disease. Particular emphasis is placed on deciphering commonly used (and sometimes misused) imaging terminology to facilitate understanding the radiologist’s report and integrating image interpretation with clinical data.
