The Honorable Sheldon Whitehouse is the junior Senator from Rhode Island in the United States Senate.  Senator Whitehouse was elected to the Senate in 2006 and serves on the Budget Committee, the Environment and Public Works Committee and the Judiciary Committee as well as several other Senate Committees.  Prior to his election to the Senate, he served as Director of Business Regulation for the state of Rhode Island, U.S. Attorney for Rhode Island, and Attorney General of Rhode Island.
