The Honorable Stephen J. Fortunato, Jr. served as an Associate Justice of the Superior Court of Rhode Island from 1994 until his retirement in 2007.  Before his appointment to the bench, Justice Fortunato was in private practice handling civil and criminal litigation in both state and federal courts with an emphasis on civil rights and constitutional issues.
