Jennifer Coliflores Rosenthal ’11 interned last summer with the Rhode Island Office of the Public Defender, representing indigent defendants. She returned to RWU Law in the fall to take her chair as Executive VP of the Student Bar Association. These were only the latest steps in a career already rich with experience in public service and governance: in Summer 2009, Jennifer interned as a Mayoral Fellow with Providence Mayor David Cicilline; she has also worked in the offices of Massachusetts Lt. Governor Kerry Healey, U.S. Senator Susan Collins of Maine, and former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney. “Lawyers have an incredible opportunity to work on behalf of underserved and underrepresented individuals, groups, and causes in their communities,” Jennifer says. “RWU Law’s Feinstein Institute for Legal Service has taught me to combine my passion for public service with my desire to pursue public interest law.”
