Students Receive 2009 Law Alumni Association Scholarships

Bristol, R.I. (June 22, 2009): Rebecca Carey'11 of Feeding Hills, Mass., and Jacqueline S. Rolleri'11 of Warren, R.I., have been selected to receive the 2009 Roger Williams University School of Law Alumni Association Scholarships. The scholarships are awarded to two students who demonstrate academic excellence in their first year of law school.
Carey is a founding member and secretary of the Criminal Law Society and a member of the Women's Law Society and Intellectual Property Law Society. She has also worked as a contract and rights coordinator for Eric Carle Studio, Northampton, Mass.
Carey earned her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Legal Studies from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
Rolleri is the president of the Environmental Law Society and treasurer of the Maritime Law Society. She is also a member of the sustainability committee and Save the Bay. She currently works as a legal intern for U.S. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse, Providence, R.I.
Rolleri earned her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Colby College, Waterville, Maine.
