Congratulations! Now that you have
mastered the application process and gained
admission to the School of Law, it is time
to begin a new chapter in the process of
becoming a law student - making your final
decision to attend and getting ready for
your first year of study.
This section is designed to answer many
of the questions that will arise as your
thoughts move from getting accepted to
getting ready. We hope you find these
pages helpful, and encourage you to contact
us with any other questions or concerns you
might have.
NOTE: RWU Law student IDs will be assigned and distributed in mid July.
Books & Course Materials All required books and other course materials may be obtained through the bookstore located in the lower level of the School of Law building.
Or, for added convenience, order your textbooks online. You will need to have your schedule available for online ordering. Schedules are expected to be mailed by August 1.
Computers Roger Williams University partners with CompUtopia to provide a variety of computer options for our students. A computer is not required, but many students find a laptop helpful as they pursue their studies.
The School of Law offers wireless (802.11b/g) Internet service in the Law Library, Cafeteria, and second floor common areas if your laptop is equipped with a compatible wireless network card. If you have any problems please call the helpdesk at x5200 (Option 1) for assistance.
Financial Aid Students expecting to receive refund checks from their student accounts due to excess loan funds should receive them by early September, shortly after the add/drop period.
If your financial package has been processed, you may receive a book voucher, if needed, to allow you to purchase books in the meantime. Book vouchers can be obtained in the Office of Student Finance and Records after August 1. Please obtain an approximate dollar amount from the bookstore in person prior to requesting a book voucher. If you have any questions about financial aid, please call our Financial Aid Office at (401) 254-4510.
