Scott Carlson grew up in Weymouth, MA and attended Roger Williams University as an undergraduate.  At RWU he was a student leader including serving as Vice President of the Student Body.  He came to law school because he believes the law will provide a rewarding career and is one of the best ways to help others achieve their goals.

On the faculty:
My favorite thing about RWU Law is the exceptional faculty that has been assembled.  The faculty at RWU are always accessible and are more than willing to answer any questions you might have.  Additionally, they are very active in scholarship and stay ahead of developing current events in the law.  You definitely get the feeling faculty want to see you succeed and want to help you achieve your goals.

On his favorite professor:
Without question my favorite professor is Jane Rindsberg.  Her commitment and dedication to her students is exceptional.  Professor Rindsberg devotes an incalculable amount of time to students both in and out of the classroom.  The enthusiasm she displays while teaching is apparent and she is committed to seeing her students succeed.  Professor Rindsberg is exceptional and has been a tremendous part of my success and experience at Roger Williams.

On Bristol:
Having lived in Bristol for the last 5 years, I clearly love the area.  Bristol is a very unique place with a lot to offer.  The location of the law school takes complete advantage of the wonderful scenery Bristol has to offer.  During the summer and early fall the Bristol waterfront is one of the most fun and beautiful places to be.  Bristol is a very warm and welcoming community and the kind of place everyone wants to live at least once in their life.

On the London Program:
My participation in the London study abroad program was an invaluable experience.  During my tutelage with a barrister, I was able to observe a full trial from beginning to end.  This experience provided me with a new perspective on the administration of justice and provided unique insight into the heritage of the American legal tradition.  Professor Webster is an exceptional professor and I learned a tremendous amount about the law of the United Kingdom and the European Union.

On why he chose RWU Law:
I came to RWU because of its reputation as an up and coming law school.  I was aware the school had a policy of investing in people to make the institution better.  This policy was readily apparent to me from the quality of the faculty, library services, and groups like the Honors Program.  I also came to RWU because, as the only law school in Rhode Island, the school can provide a number of unique opportunities for both internships and externships.  RWU is a school with a reputation that is certainly on the rise.
