Non-Discrimination Policy It is the policy of Roger Williams University
not to discriminate on the basis of sex,
handicap, disability, race, color, religion,
age, national or ethnic origin, marital
status, or sexual orientation, in its educational
programs, admissions policies, financial
aid, or other school-administered programs.
Military Recruitment
on Campus The U.S. Department of Defense does not adhere to our non-discrimination policy. Through the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” law, the military discriminates against gay, lesbian, and bisexual law students who can serve in the military only so long as they do not reveal their sexual orientation. Transgendered individuals are forbidden to serve in the military. Because there is a federal statute (the Solomon amendment) that would withdraw all federal funding from the University if we do not allow military recruiters on campus, we do allow them here. If we did not, the federal government would remove all federal grants and loans.
