Welcome to the Feinstein Institute for
Legal Service, the center of the School of
Law's commitment to public interest law and
public service.
Established in 1997 with a generous gift
from the Feinstein Foundation, the Institute
was created to produce an enduring culture
of public service among law students, and to
foster in them a lifelong commitment to
public service, regardless of the type of practice they
choose.
In support of the School of Law's
philosophy that lawyers should serve the
community, the Institute offers a broad
range of hands-on learning opportunities
through the Public Interest and
Judicial Externship Programs, the Public
Service Program, and the Pro Bono Collaborative.
It also supports and encourages public
interest activities through a generous Summer
Stipend Program, a Public Interest Scholarship
Program, a Public Interest Speaker Series,
a Public Interest Law Resource Library and
PSLawNet membership, Public Interest Career
Counseling, and unique Community
Partnerships.
