Providing Tax Preparation

Services and Advocacy for

Low-Income Taxpayers

- Helped dozens of RI taxpayers through informal advocacy with the RI Department of Taxation.

- In 2015 and 2016, RWU Law students assisted over 1,200 low-income taxpayers in completing federal and state tax returns.

For many taxpayers the Earned Income Tax Credit provides a major and much-needed income boost.

- RWU Law students have consistently prepared the highest number of tax returns out of any VITA volunteer group in the state.
