’It’s Just a Building’ – The Role of a Lawyer in Real Estate Development

Thursday, February 16, 2017
5:00 pm - 6:00 pm  |  RWU Law, 10 Metacom Avenue, Bristol - Room 262

Featuring Guest Speaker Michael A. Voccola '97

Corporate Vice President and Associate General Counsel, Procaccianti Companies, Inc.

Far too few people understand and appreciate the complexities of real estate development and the critical role that a lawyer plays in bringing together the diverse aspects involved.  Major developers around the world depend on qualified and knowledgeable lawyers to pull together aspects of land use, zoning, variances, lease negotiations, financing and more.  A good lawyer, with proper latitude, is the ringmaster among engineers, architects, bankers, tenants and others and brings a true “value-add” to the deal.  This interactive OPEN DOOR event will guide you through The Role of a Lawyer in Real Estate Development when “It’s Just a Building.”  Michael A. Voccola, Corporate Vice President and Associate General Counsel of Procaccianti Companies, Inc. and RWU Law alum (1997), lives this complex role as counsel for the second largest privately-owned hotel owner and operator in the United States.  Come prepared to engage with a fascinating deal: You will receive a simple list of facts in advance of the event.

Speaker followed by light refreshments in the Bay View Room.
