Judge Dorsey was appointed as the third United States Bankruptcy Judge for the District of Rhode Island on September 9, 2025. The newly appointed judge made a career helping troubled businesses. The position gives him a new opportunity to use the creative problem-solving skills that he honed over 15 years working in roles including as a court-appointed receiver.
