Student Support at RWU School of Law
The Dean of Students Office promotes student success by acting as an advocate and an administrative liaison for students. The Dean of Students office is equipped to provide appropriate resources and guidance for a wide variety of student needs and concerns. The Dean of Students Office is located in the Dean's Suite.
This office supports student needs including:
- Accommodations for students with documented disabilities
- Orientation programs for entering students
- Support for students with temporary medical concerns and family emergencies
- Support for students with personal challenges
- Connecting students to on-campus or community-based resources, including mental health counseling
- Requests for Medical or Personal Leaves of Absence

The Roger Williams University School of Law Student Handbook is a compilation of documents relevant to the student's career at the law school. It consists of two basic documents which relate to all academic matters, the Academic Code and the Code of Conduct.
In addition, by their attendance at Roger Williams University, School of Law students are obligated to comply with the Roger Williams University Student Handbook's regulations and procedures, which they are expected to read and understand.
A student may request a leave of absence for medical or personal reasons from the School of Law. The request must be submitted in writing on a Dean’s Action Form with supporting documentation as appropriate.
If you have questions, please contact Associate Dean of Student Life and Operations Lorraine Lalli. All leaves must be approved as detailed in Section 305 of the Student Handbook.
