A New Semester Begins and the Library is Here to Help

Welcome Back

A belated Happy New Year, and welcome back for the spring semester! We hope you enjoyed the extra time off and that you recharged your spirit for this semester. By the time this blog post goes live, many of you will have finished week one of thirteen (or 7.7% of the semester).

Here are a few reminders about the services provided by your friendly, knowledgeable, and always service-oriented law library staff:

  • Research assistance and general library help: in-person, by appointment, via Ask a Librarian, by email, or by calling 401-254-4547.
  • The Textbook Reserve Program, which provides materials for required courses.
  • Study Aids Guides for 1L and upper-level courses and general LawGuides covering a variety of topics.
  • Individual and Group Study Rooms, for focused studying or group study sessions.
  • The library catalog, your first stop to determine whether the law library owns a title of interest.
  • Specialized resources for papers, law review notes, or directed research, via our digital resources available on- and off-campus.
  • Can’t find what you need at any of the RWU libraries or online? The interlibrary loan service will obtain an item not held by any of our libraries.

The library also offers a variety of items beyond books and databases. As you work in the library, you may need a fan in the morning, a blanket in the afternoon, a lamp for additional light after sunset, or even an umbrella for unexpected rain on the way home. Running out of power on your phone or computer? Borrow a charger to keep your device working until you get home to charge it overnight. All of these items are available at the circulation desk and can be checked out with your RWU ID. Need a study break? We have coloring books and all the coloring tools for a little art therapy in the Lounge along with some puzzles.

Remember: the library is YOUR space at the law school to research, study, or take a break. If you have any questions, need a helping hand, or missed your library staff, stop by and say hi! We missed you!
