We’ve Caught the Love Bug

Madagascar hissing cockroaches

Happy Valentine’s Day! We understand that, as both law students and lawyers, it is hard to set aside time for love. Finding or maintaining relationships (of any kind, really) in this profession can be difficult. You have a tremendous number of tasks to complete, and not to mention the high stress, so let the Law Library research for you this time. *winks*

Love yourself by picking up your favorite snack and cozy up with a good book that has a plotline for once – don’t even open a textbook for one night (you have our permission). Check out the Law Library’s Blind Date with a Book event for a chance to win a non-law book. Love your friend by leaving a sticky note message on their locker, coordinating a movie night, or maybe hosting a Galentine’s paint event. Love your family by calling a parent (we all know they are waiting to hear from you), sibling, or a cousin to just check in and say hi. Love your partner or someone with partner potential by baking a romantic dessert together or going out to eat for the evening.

We hope you take the weekend to love yourself, your friends, your family, and your partner (if you have one). Law feels like your entire life sometimes, but these people are what make YOUR life. If you truly have too much work to do and not enough emotional battery to focus on love, you can at least name a roach after your ex!

And don’t forget one of your Law Library loves is coming back soon! Lawyer March Madness will be returning in a few weeks, where you will see some new and returning faces. Follow us on social media and look out for emails about voting! If you have any fictional lawyers you want to appear in this or future years’ brackets, email us your suggestion at lawlibraryhelp@rwu.edu.
