Explore the Law Library's Career Collection

Roger Williams University School of Law Library is committed to celebrating and supporting every facet of a student’s identity and background. We understand that one’s identities can influence interests and concerns related to career development.
Just like in college, you don't need to know which area of law you want to practice at the outset. However, there are numerous resources available to assist you in your professional development. Do you need a book to help you improve your interview skills? Are you interested in discovering the top 10 federal jobs for lawyers and how to secure them? We have books on these topics and more.

Our Career Collection is located to the right as you enter the print station inside the law library. It includes titles such as "Careers in Sports," "How to Land a Top-Paying Federal Job," and "Federal Resume Guide...." What’s a better way to gain insight into your future career than by hearing about the personal stories and journeys of your predecessors who have been successful in their fields? The practice of law is a vast area with various niche sectors that you may not be aware of. Expanding your knowledge of different career paths in the legal field will only broaden your horizons.
Remember, you're not alone in your career journey. If you've found a book that portrays the career you wish to pursue but aren't sure where to start, the next step is to develop an action plan and you don't have to do it alone. RWU Law's Office of Career Development offers personalized career counseling, on-campus interview programs, and mock interviews. They will assist you with all phases of your job search and professional development. Their office is in Room 175, directly to the left as you enter the law school building from the first floor.
