Exam tips and stress management

Good news: the semester is almost over, and summer is just around the corner!
Bad news: that means it is exam time.
Be sure to caffeinate, meditate, and be polite to your fellow students!
The Law Library has several suggestions to help you cope with the end of semester crunch time and stress.
- Use the library’s resources:
The Law Library’s staff has prepared study aids guides to the major study aids in the library’s collection. These guides are organized by class subject, including guides for all 1L classes and many of the 2L and 3L classes. In these guides, you will find links to the Law Library’s popular print and eBook study aids including West Academic, Lexis Study Aids, and Aspen Learning Library; as well as audio and visual resources. CALI Lessons are also a great way to review for exams.
- Reserve a study room:
If you are planning on booking study rooms please be sure to read the study room policy. Study rooms may be reserved for individual and group study sessions. Reservations will be cancelled if the policy is not followed, and multiple failures to comply with the policy will end in the loss of reservation privileges through the end of the semester.
- Check out our Stress Management, Mindfulness and Wellness LawGuide:
The library’s guide for Stress Management, Mindfulness and Wellness provides information and links to help you manage stress in serious and not-so-serious ways.
- Animal cams:
The library will again be showing live streams of cute baby animals in our computer classrooms during reading days and finals. Whether you prefer snuggly puppies or mewling kittens, we have got you covered! With the hopes of giving you a few moments of joy during your study breaks, we will have various animals on the screens of both computer classrooms. Please stop by the computer classrooms, you’ll oohh and ahh over our animal friends.
- Take an Exercise Break:
The RWU Campus Recreation Center offers exercise equipment and a variety of group exercise classes to engage your body. Exercise, including walking, sports, and other fun physical activities, can help you maintain a healthy mind-body balance. You can even rent a kayak or paddleboard if you want to spend some time exercising outside.
Remember - Sound travels:
Over the next few weeks, please remember that sound carries in the library, especially when you are entering or leaving. Even whispers can be louder than you realize and distracting to your colleagues trying to study. While some students prefer to work in small groups in study rooms and appreciate the chatter of other students, some students prefer to study in silence. Earplugs, provided by CALI, will be available at the circulation desk. The library staff is available if you have any questions or need assistance. Stop by the library or email us at lawlibraryhelp@rwu.edu.
Breathe deeply, think positive thoughts, and good luck on exams!
